Budget saunas that can run on a standard 13A socket

An infrared sauna, sometimes called a far infrared sauna or simply an IR sauna uses infrared ceramic or carbon panel heaters to emit far-infrared light. This light is then absorbed by the skin’s cells, which experience it as radiant heat - causing the person to become warmer and sweat. In this way, the sauna utilises radiation in place of the convection and conduction used by traditional saunas.

Unlike a traditional sauna, which heats the air around you, an infrared sauna heats your body directly. This can cause you to sweat more and raise your core temperature more quickly. Some studies suggest that infrared saunas have health benefits such as improving circulation, relieving pain, and helping to detoxify the body. However, more research is needed to confirm these claims, but one major advantage of an infrared sauna is that it uses much less power than a traditional sauna, and runs at lower temperatures, the heat itself is usually kept between 50°C and 60°C, with no humidity.
